Wax Melts
How long will my wax melt last?
We recommend using 1/5 of our snap bar wax melts and to burn no longer than 3-4 hours at a time. This can last up to 12 hours. One or two pieces of our brittle wax will usually last around the same length of time, although this can vary as the size of the brittle wax pieces can vary greatly.
How do I remove my wax melt?
After allowing the wax to solidify. If the wax does not easily dislodge from the wax melt burner when you gently press it, you will need to light a tea light for around 10-20 seconds to slightly melt the wax to dislodge it.
How to use wax melts?
Simply place your wax melt in the well of the wax melt burner. Place a tea light underneath the well of the wax burner, this slowly melts the wax melt and releases a fabulous fragrance throughout your home. We recommend melting your wax melt for no longer than 3-4 hours at a time.
Can I reuse wax melts/ How often to change wax melts?
Yes, you can reuse your wax melts for up to 12 hours or more. This is total personal preference, and this will vary from person to person. When you feel like the wax met has lost its aroma you can change it. We still recommend melting your wax melt for no longer than 3-4 hours at a time. This means your wax melt can last 3-4 uses.
What is a wax melt burner?
A wax melt burner is used to warm up your wax melts to allow them to release their fragrance into your space. They have a well on the top where your wax melts are places and a space on the bottom to place your tea light. The tea light is what heats up your wax burner which then melts your melts.
Electric wax melt burners are also used with wax melts. They provide a quick and easy method for melting your scented wax melts. Simply plug it in, add your favourite fragranced wax to the well and switch it on. The electricity then illuminates and heats the bulb which in turn heats the well containing the wax.
How to store wax melts?
A room temperature environment is the perfect place for wax melts. Not too hot and not too cold. They should also be kept out of direct sunlight as they could melt if left for too long.
How do you clean a wax melt burner?
If maintained properly, you should only need to clean the well of the wax melt burner. You have a couple of cleaning options once you are ready to replace your wax melt. You can turn on the heat source (tea light or bulb on an electric burner) and just start to heat the wax for a couple of minutes. The underside of the wax will start to melt allowing you to slide the whole lump of wax from the bowl in one piece.

Candles
Are soy candles better?
Soy wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources. Not only are there environmental benefits to choosing soy wax over a different type of candle wax, but soy wax also burns slower than other waxes, meaning you get a candle that lasts much longer. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burns cleaner and results in less soot. Soy wax also emits an excellent scent throw which results in a beautifully strong smelling candle.
How does a candle burn?
The heat of the flame vaporizes the liquid wax (turns it into a hot gas) and starts to break down the hydrocarbons into molecules of hydrogen and carbon. These vaporized molecules are drawn up into the flame, where they react with oxygen from the air to create heat, light, water vapor (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). It’s all very technical!
How to make a candle burn evenly?
By following our candle care advice, you can ensure your candle burns perfectly.
Trim Your Wick - Before lighting each time, carefully trim the wick to 5mm. Removing wick debris encourages an even burn, steady flame. You can do this with a wick trimmer or scissors.
Don't Blow Out Your Candle - We recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle. This prevents the wick from drifting off centre and ensures you get the maximum burn time from your candle.
Stay Centred - Sometimes the wick can need a little help staying centred. We suggest that after you extinguish the flame and have allowed the wax to cool for a couple of minutes, then gently ease the wick back into a central, upright position. Maintaining the wick makes sure your candle will burn more evenly.
Timing is Everything - Candles should be burned one hour for every inch in their diameter, but no longer than four hours at a time.
If you burn a candle for longer than four hours, carbon collects on the wick and 'mushrooms' - this makes the wick unstable, liable to droop in the wax and get buried, and your candle could smoke.
Wax has a 'memory' - if a 'tunnel' forms, it will burn incorrectly from then on wasting wax and ruining the full burn time your candle diminishing the life of your candle.
Stay Out of the Wind - Candles might look lovely while flickering but for safety and to ensure a correct burn, if placed in a draught, the flame could touch and damage the container or surrounding items.
What happens if you burn a candle too long?
This can be very dangerous. Candles should be burned one hour for every inch in their diameter, but no longer than four hours at a time. Burning a candle for too long can cause the jar to become unstable and cause fires. It is very important that you are strict with candle burn time.
